I was installing Xamarin, and its associated files when suddenly my computer started showing that my 120 GB SSD is full. This is odd because the files were being saved in a different hard drive. Furthermore, I have even calculated the amount of storage I have on my SSD, and its about 70GB. I have also noticed if I refresh This PC the storage fluctuates.
Thank you for your time and insight.

The installation size for that program is of course way too small to account for that so I suspect that a combination of hibernation file size and restore points is at least a part of the problem, and would occur immediately with the install.

Have you ever optimized your SSD after your Windows 10 install? If not, that is the place to start along with deleting temp files or running a free cleanup program like Ccleaner.
Which OS?

To conserve space on the SSD, I would disable hibernation and delete the hibernation file (hiberfil.sys), which can take up a lot of space. To do that open an elevated command prompt window (right click run as admin) and type in:

powercfg.exe -h off

then hit enter and restart your computer. I would also reduce the space allowed for restore points or eliminate them completely.

I am using Windows 10, the problem is I have looked over the size of all files and summed them, there is no way I am using 120GB. And before I was installing Xamarin the disk had ~60 GB of space, it showed as full within a time span of ~5min.
