I played video games for much of the day yesterday on my computer and then was watching videos from it at night. I made no changes at all at any point. I went to sleep and when I woke up in the morning and turned my computer on. It started to boot normally, the little red ram light on the motherboard turned on and then went off, but then nothing. Nothing appears on the screen and I can't even get to the bios. All of the lights and fans are on in my computer and it appears to be running fine except nothing appears on my monitor screen.

The only thing that is odd is that the lights built into my mouse are staying on and usually they turn right off.

I have tried unplugging everything except my video card my hdd and a single stick of RAM. Still nothing. I also tried pressing the CMOS reset button and that didn't seem to do anything. Please help

Edit: I just tried booting with no hard drive connected at all and still nothing. And install the system speaker and it didn't even make a peep. Is my motherboard fried? :-(

What about this problem points to the psu? It seems to be fine, everything turns on and it doesn't make any noise. I have had PSU problems before and it was always accompanied by a faint crackle or whine.

update. I eventually got the computer working and it is running ok as far as I can tell. I took it to a friends house and hooked up his graphics card to my computer and it started and I was able to reset the bios. After that it worked with my graphics card. I have no idea what was the matter, but either way it was time to upgrade so I got a new mobo and cpu the other day anyway.
