So I have an SSD where my OS is installed, and also have a 3TB HDD.

The thing is...and I recently discovered this, if my HDD is conected my computer takes a lot to load (start windows 10).

When my HDD is not connected my computer starts and loads in like 10 seconds.

I only need this hdd as a storage unit, how can I fix this.

Solution
That motherboard should support a 3tb+ drives.
Make sure the HDD is not in the boot order.

Can you link us to a screenshot of your diskmanagement window that shows both drives connected?

What are your systems specs? It's possible you have an old board that doesn't fully support 2+Tb sized drives like my old 890fx board & took 10 minutes to actually start booting.

How can I know if it doesn't support my 3 tb hdd, I have a maximus v gene and for what I can see o
n the manual it supports ok.
