[SOLVED] Computer Taking Forever to Boot

Hello everybody!

General problem:

I built a brand new computer with 100% new components earlier this year. My computer (seemingly out of nowhere) started taking a very long time to boot up. It's running on an M.2 SSD, and for the past few months it has been working flawlessly and has been booting in 20 seconds or less. Then suddenly, every time it resets or powers up, it takes at minimum 5 minutes and up to 20 minutes before I can do anything.

Additionally, every now and then, certain processes will just not work or will take a long time to happen. Something as simple as opening file explorer. I will click file explorer, and the computer will not respond in any way, then 5 minutes later file explorer will open up. And sometimes I'll go to the start menu and click the shutdown button. And nothing will happen, and I can continue using my computer as normal, and then 10 minutes later it will start the shutdown command.

And the most confusing part, is that aside from everything taking a long time to load and my computer taking 10 minutes to boot up, it seems to run completely fine! My computer still recognizes every bit of memory, the CPU, the GPU, the SSD, and the Hard Drive. And I've done a benchmark test and everything seems to be working well. So I truly have no idea what is happening or how to fix it or even how to troubleshoot it at this point.

What I've tried:

I've tried almost everything I can think of, all the way up to a complete refresh of my hard drive with a new install of Windows 10, and the problems persist, which makes me believe that it must be hardware issue?

  • I've done a total refresh including wiping all programs and files and a fresh install of Windows 10
  • I've checked task manager and there have never been any out-of-the-ordinary programs taking up too much memory, CPU, or GPU.
  • I've run a benchmark test via UserBenchmark. As far as I can tell, everything seems to be running properly. You can find the results of that test here: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/26883002
  • I've checked and confirmed that Windows is installed and running on my SSD and not my Disk Drive.
  • I've tried to do the Performance Monitor Report thing? And the results seem to be conflicting with my benchmarks. I'm not sure how to read the results or how to share, so if you need that, let me know how to share them or at least let me know what I should screenshot from it.
  • I've checked for windows updates and driver updates, and I have both reset and shut down my computer dozens of times.

My Computer Components:

(They can also be found via the UserBenchmark link above)
(Also, all components are brand new and have been working well for the past few months before these problems came up)

  • Motherboard: Asrock B450M Pro4
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
  • Memory: 16GB G.SKILL Ripjaws V DDR4 3200 C16 2x8GB
  • Storage1: Samsung 970 Evo NVMe PCIe M.2 500GB (This is where Windows is installed)
  • Storage2: Seagate Barracuda 2TB (2018)
  • GPU: Nvidia RTX 2070S (Super)

One last note

I do not have easy access to other hard drives, other motherboards, other RAM cards, etc. This is my first computer build from scratch and I do not have any spare components to swap out. If swapping components is necessary for troubleshooting, I will find a way, but if there's anything else I can do by myself first without needing to spend extra money or find someone else, that would be ideal.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to troubleshoot the problem or try to fix it.

Thank you!

Solution
Usually the non-powered hub can share only up to 4 devices, I check your USB hub ( docking), and I can't find it is the powered or the non-powered one.

But you got problem after adding more than 4 ( Keyboard, Mouse, Camera, and Bluetooth Adapter) USB devices, that means it is the non-powered one. If you don't want to buy the powered USB hub, move some of the USB devices to the PC.
From the test result, the 2TB has problem. Contact Seagate for RMA. Before you do it, try to disconnect the 2TB, boot the PC to see what happens. I think the PC will work fine without the bad 2TB.

Also make sure you disconnect other storage drive, during you install the window OS. And you can connect other storage drive after done the installation.

UPDATE:

Ok so after plenty of troubleshooting, I think I have narrowed down the problem.

When my computer has a USB docking station plugged in (even though it's not in use), it gets extremely slow and glitchy during power ups and resets. For some reason. It never had any issues with either of the drives.

But I will note that it seemed to only become a problem when I plugged in too many other USB devices along with it. When I had a Keyboard, Mouse, Camera, and Bluetooth Adapter all plugged into USB, everything worked fine even with the docking station. However, I added the Mic, and everything glitched. I took away the mic and it was still glitchy. I added the mic and took away the docking station, and that fixed it. I added the docking station again, and it broke again. So strange.

So follow up question, why would a USB docking station (or the fact that I have too many USB ports at one time) cause my computer to get all glitchy, but not glitchy all the time, only during resetting and powering up and shutting down? Any ideas?
