Computer technician books

I'm currently studying how to become a computer technician and I'm looking for a good book that will help me in my studies.

Is there anything you good people would recommend?

For example what I'm looking for:

How PCIe works
How CPU works
How buses work
How hard drive works
and so on...

I'm from the UK.

Not only that, but these cool things called Libraries as well.

I suggest that practically any book printed source of information is going to be obsolescent by the time it reaches the shelves. Internet is your best source but beware, too many web pages don't have publication dates.
The CompTIA A+ book would be a good thing to have as you will most likely need an A+ certification to even get an entry level technician job.

It's true that web has made things very easy. We need not rely only on books as they doesn't cover the practical troubleshoots which a computer tech faces in real life. Web has good information about colleges, courses, books etc. I found a wonderful site which has all the information about the computer technician career. http://www.computertechnician.net/different-career-paths-for-computer-technicians You can check this site, it has lot of links to other sites related to computer technician-career paths, jobs, salary, articles etc. I hope it would help all the computer techies over here.

Well, I'm happy to answer this, I had the same doubts about what are the best books to learn PC repair.
This is my humble opinion:
- Best book: Scott Mueller's "Upgrading and Repairing PCs", it's well written, exhaustive and understandable by a high-schooler (although my previous knowledge of electronics helped). I found no book that even comes close to this. I've read it cover to cover and I'm revising it so I can tell.
- CompTIA A+ Certification All-in-One Exam Guide, Seventh Edition (Exams 220-701 & 220-702): good book, although by far not as thorough as Mueller's book, not should it be, it's aimed at helping you pass an exam. It's also lighter to read because of the author's somewhat cheerful style and he shows great experience too.
- Scott Mueller's "Upgrading and repairing Windows": however, I miss this book was updated, it goes no farther than XP and a little Vista.
