I have a hp laptop and a tower. The laptop has no hard drive in it. I was wondering if I could connect the tower to the laptop instead of buying a new laptop hard drive. I want to use it like a monitor. Is that possible.

You can't use a laptop as a monitor, no inputs.

At best you may be able to get a kit to convert the laptop screen to a monitor but that is really just to play with more than for anything usable. A lot easier to just buy a second monitor. You can find used working monitors on craigslist for as cheap as $20 for a 19-20" LCD.

What Size HDD is in your tower?
I mean actual dimensions not GB.
if you have a slim HDD in the tower its possible but not likely that you can put that HDD into the laptop.
If its the bigger HDDs then u could possibly buy a usb adapter for the HDD.
I dont know exactly how the OS compatibility works between different brand computers.
What brand is the tower?
