Computer turning off then on again in a second

Before i went to college I started to experience a problem with my computer where I would press the power button. Then the LED and fans would turn on for a second then turn off and would repeat till I unplug the computer. This computer build is around 4 years old and this is its first major problem.

When I came back I still had the issue. I read some forums and tried a to fix it. I moved the ram around. That did not work. I finally read to remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard and put it back in after ten seconds. When I did that it worked fine and everything was working properly. Later that night during my second shutdown (The first one was to check if it was doing it) I tried to turn it on but the issue returned. So I left it until today when I returned.

When I got home I tried to boot it up, it turned on and off once, then when it powered on again it was fine. After a couple of shutdowns to see if the problem returned it did.

All I remember about the issue starting in the first place was I had the computer on then I fell asleep. Then woke up to it off and the issue was there.

So i have a CX600M psu but they discontinued them. The ones left are little bit expensive, what would be a good replacement?

What is your budget?

Am just saying it might be the psu, doesn't have to be necessarily. The CX doesn't have a good ame and looking at what has come by here in threads might it be though.Could also be the motherboard, but psu is easiest to test/replace.

Should really ask what other parts you use in the system (?).

I know but i do not have any spare power supplies. So, im just going to buy one see if it works and if it does not i will just return it.

Decent and still cheap psu would be this,

you talk about college so assume you are US based.
If you wanted something (semi) modular would the CXM of the same series be $10 more expensive.
There's this one as well,

this series by EVGA cought some bad publicity here at Toms since a part blew when looking for the OPP limit in reviews, but in real life should this not be a problem. Haven't seen any people come here with problems as well, but i can't read all threads. 😉
Then again for a $10 more than this would you get a Seasonic Focus series 550watt.

To show that budget is something to take into account the upgoing prices.

First: I bought the seasonic power supply. That did not work it still kept on rebooting
Second: I removed the CPU cooler to clean and change paste, and i removed CPU to check for bent pins there was none. That did not work it still kept on rebooting
Third: I removed my GPU,internet card, and ram. Cleaned and put the RAM back. Then tried to turned it on.That did not work it still kept on rebooting

All these attempts i had the new power supply installed.

I removed stick 1 from my board. The first time i booted up it stayed on. I tried a couple other boots and sometimes it would loop 2-3 times then turn on.Stick 2 never automatically turn on without a couple of loops but eventually turned on to stay.

Having it turn on eventually after a couple of loops is not new. It would be later when i put it on my computer stand and after a couple of shutdowns it would eventually infinite loop.

Can you get stable in the bios?
There is a latest very recent bios, but it is a beta one. "Version 3503 Bètaversion from 2018/04/26"

Taking just one stick out isn't really breadboarding. Might wise to do that and when going at it just make sure you clean the pc and get some fresh paste under the cpu as well.
