Computer turns on after turning it off

It only happens once, so after it restarts once I can turn it off for real. I don't know what's causing this. I downgraded my drivers by downloading the latest versions from my PC manufacturer website since I had previously updated with a driver updater tool, which caused my start-ups and shutdowns be slower. Now they're back to their usual boot and shutdown speed, minus the fact that it restarts once, any idea what's causing this?

Check in your BIOS to see if you have auto restart enabled. That basically does a restart after a crash automatically. If your motherboard thinks that the first shutdown is a crash, it will automatically restart.

Looking through Bluescreenview I can see that there's been a blue screen error every time I've shut down the computer, though no visible blue screen. I'll go into BIOS and look for the auto restart option. Even If I do turn off the auto-restart should I be worried about the blue screens during shutdown?

Sometimes people turn off the autorestart option in order to see the bluescreen. this will then give you the actual error code to aid in diagnosis.
