computer turns on for a split second, then turns off.

so, i built my first computer about a year ago, and i had alot of fun doing it and it turned out great. but recently ive had this problem that when i push the power button my computer turns on for a split second and then turns off. and then i have to flip the switch on the psu or i nothing will happen when i press the powerbutton. ive done the paperclip test on the psu and ive tried booting without the gpu. so i know that neither of them are causing this problem. so, does anyone here have any idea what might be causing this? and could there be a temporary/permanent quick fix to this? because im going off to a LAN party this weekend.

Try firstly borrowing a power supply and testing.
