I recently got a new computer case and when moving all of my components over, I am running into a problem where when I turn my computer on it will instantly turn back off. It does turn on for a second because all the fans spin for a brief moment.
The computer runs fine when I remove the 8 pin adapter from the motherboard but obviously wont boot.
The first time I tried turning it on in the new case it ran fine. The problem only started happening after I plugged some extra LEDs into one of the female 4 pin Molex connectors. Removing the LEDs does not solve the problem
It sounds to me like a short but if it were a short, the computer would not power up with or without the 8 pin adapter.
I tried the motherboard with a different power supply and not luck. When powered it will turn off and on 4 or four times before staying off.
This is a really odd problem that I just cannot seem to figure out. Im guessing a short probably occurred at some point and probably RIPd my motherboard but if anyone else has any possible solutions let me know any help is greatly appreciated.
Edit 1: It is either the board or the CPU as there are no issues with a different board and CPU and RAM.
Edit 2: Things ive tried.
-Removing induvidual RAM sticks
-No beeps from speaker.
-New power supply
-Only connecting mobo and CPU fun
-Different Wall outlets
-Different starter switches
