Helo!
I have a Gateway fx-6802 with a TBGM01G1-1.1-8EKS3H motherboard.
CPU Intel Core i7 920 2.67GHz
12 gb RAM
1066NVidia GT

I would like to know what upgrade I can put in this machine... Thank you

Instead of upgrading this first gen CPU computer try overclocking the CPU if the motherboard will permit you to change BIOS settings. You will get a faster computer at no additional expense!

The i7 920 overclocks well, especially if you have a D0 stepping CPU.

Ok... I should have told that I'm noob...
I used to check upgrade for my other computer on forums. I usually can find a thread with what can be put on a motherboard to upgrade it at its maximum... But with my Gateway, nothing!
Can anyone tell me what can I put in my Gateway fx6802 as long as I don't need to change the motherboard?
Thank you

sorry for my english

Aren't we all.😉

From what i can find does it come with an atx case (atx is a certain standard) and should practically anything with the same standard fit.
looking at you cpu it must have a motherboard with a pcie (=purple/red one) slot, the graphics card get's placed in that.
So any current gpu (=graphics card) should fit.

Look at the side of the psu=power supply and look at the sticker for information about the +12 voltrail and how much amps=Ampere are on that one, also give model and maker if possible.

Also give a maximum budget.

I don't know for the case but it looks like a standard midATX case...
The power supply is a 750 w FSP750-80APG and say 18a.
There is no color slot for the graphic card... the graphic card seems to be placed on a black slot identical to another one free (I remember the seller who wasn't very sure saying me that there is no other place for a second graphic card...)
And the budget would be around 750$-1000$

Considering this do you keep the cpu too.

Just upgrade the gpu to something nice like a gtx 760 or better. The psu has 4 rails of 18A and 4xpcie connectors from what i gather. It should be enough to power such a card.
If you wanted to be sure could you use both seperate power cables to plug into the new gpu so the power comes from two different rails (i think that each pcie cable comes from one of the +12Vrails).

For maybe others, found the info about the psu here,
http://allegro.pl/fsp-750-80-apg-fortron-4x-pc-express-gwarancja-i3942155488.html

You could also for money like that buy a nice case or/and a ssd and clone the o.s. or reinstall it.

A new psu could be payed from it too, although this one should do looking at the specs.Although the amount of cables tells a different story, but it's oem so maybe they figured that nobody needs more than those present.
I would first try things with the one you already have.

The color of the pcie slot can be different,it can be black too,it just has to look like the one i linked in shape.

This "TBGM01G1-1.1-8EKS3H motherboard." i cannot find.

If you open "dxdiag" by entering it in the searchbar in start or via "execute"(?) and open that will it in the tab "system" give the "system model" which is your motherboard. Can you give that info here.
Since it's an oem pc i think will it probably not be able to overclock, but it's worth a try if your open for it.

For really a $1000 could you get a complete new system if you wanted, but it's not strictly necessary.

First thank you for your help!

I could also upgrade the CPU if needed.
Would it be possible to install two graphic cards?

Do you really think it would be better to create a complete system?

And what about SSD =D
