[SOLVED] Computer Upgrade without the $

Hey Guys and Gals I am looking to pump some $ into my current 2013/14 build. I do not want a new computer nor to spend more than 1k, i think with some more ram, SSD and graphics card this thing will shine. I Love this current build which i spent a ton on back in he day so I do not want to ditc just yet. Please no ideas on new PC.

My current build is.

PSU: 850W
Processor: Intel i7 3930K
MBU: P9X79Pro
RAM: 4GBx4 = 16 GB total ram (Corsair Vengence 4x4 @ 1600 Mhz)
SSD: OCZ Vertex 3 (VTX-25SAT3) 120GB SATA III
Video: MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozer II 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 560 2GB
Advice on high capacity HDD storage drives around 10 TB i would like 1-2 of these.

For RAM I do not need 128GB (cost $) MAX ram which the MBU suports, i think 64 will be sufficient.

I would like to upgrade all but thre processor and motherboard. I am looking to go 4k with a new monitor down the road so i need a graphices card that can handle it.

Any additional questions feel free to ask. Its a work in progress.

What are you doing that would require 64gb of memory? 16gb is plenty for gaming and 32gb would be sufficient if your doing editing work.

The SSD & GPU would be the first things I'd upgrade.

What PSU do you have? (need exact model).

Yeah you definitely don't need 64gigs of Ram. 16 is enough for gaming, 32 - for editing.

I'd first upgrade the gpu, and ssd.
If you want 4k@60 gaming then you definitely need 2080ti, but your cpu might bottleneck it.
2080 super can also do 4k@60, you need to turn down a few settings.
2070 super is OK, but it can't realy do good 4k performance.

For ssd I'd take the intel 660p 1tb or 2tb.
For a better (faster) ssd you can take Samsung 860 evo.

Also think about building a new pc. For 1000 you can get a decent rig, though it won't be able to do 4k@60, but if can save up to 1500 - you can get a rig that can do 4k@60, not on ultra though. Or maybe biuld a pc for 1000 then upgrade to the price of 1500 when you save up more money.

I've been seeing where 64GB is a safe bet with my type of RAM the old DDR3, thats why i was going for the 64GB.

My PSU is perfect i spent a fortune on it back in the day to made sure it lasted. The Model is OCZ ZX series 850W Fully Modular 80Plus Gold High Performance. I do NOT wish to replace the Power Supply,

Thats not gonna work no M.2( no adapter, just an SSD worthy of my rig) nor PCI-e and no slots free unless i take out and upgrade HDD.

Replaced your 120gb boot drive with a 1TB sata SSD. Added a 10TB HDD. Also added 32more GB ram. You should purchase another identical kit if possible.
4k really takes something more like a 2080ti to run it, but you don't have the budget. The 2070 super should do alright.

Being told by whom? Your current 16GB of RAM is almost certainly fine, depending on what exactly you mean by "multitasking".
