computer upgrade

So, I'm in the process of doing some fairly major upgrades to my system. I'm looking at getting a new processor, motherboard, psu, and case.

So, I'm trying to do this as economically as possible. My video card is a 8800 GTS. I realize by going with the cheaper motherboard, I'd lose SLI capabilities, which I'm not planning on using but am a little wary to give up because who knows what the future will hold. Would I lose anything else by going with that motherboard and the P35 chipset? Also, is there any reason not to go with the Cool Master cheaper case? I'm struggling with trying to keep this as affordable as possible and worrying about, "You get what you pay for".

No , the main difference between 680i and P35 is that SLI option u mentioned, u wont lose anything else

Then Antec will make cooling much easier which could be important for OCing, etc....

Worst case scenario, you take the side off the side of the Coolmaster and point the side up. This should let the hot air rise out fairly easily.
Ugly as all get out, but it works.

Note: The 8800GT should be available in 2-3 days and will likely be cheaper than the current 8800GTS GPUs and will be faster and cooler.
This may cause the price of the 8800GTS to drop quite a bit. The result will be you shold be able to save a chunk of money in a few days with better GPU options.

I'm a little worried about cooling, just because the room my computer is in tends to be the warmest in the house and my desk doesn't offer very good airflow. I'm not planning on doing any overclocking however, so I wasn't sure how much the increased cooling of the Antec would be necessary. Honestly, not really at all concerned about the looks.

I already have an 8800GTS that I picked up 6 months ago or so, so I'm not currently looking to upgrade my GPU. Thanks much for the tip though!

The parts look good.

The 8800GTS puts out lots of heat. Either case will do the job, but you must be careful where you put it.

Don't expect good cooling from any case that is in a restricted cubbyhole. Find a good place to put the PC, where there is a good supply of intake air, and a good place to exhaust the heated air out the back and top. Alternately, buy a better desk.
