Hello everyone,
I'm looking to upgrade my computer a little bit and I thought the GPU was a good place to start. I was thinking of upgrading the GPU to a Radeon HD 7870, but was wondering if this would work with my current build. Here is my build:

CPU: Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67Ghz
Motherboard: EVGA 141-BL-E757
RAM: 6GB Corsair Dominator DDR3
GPU: Radeon HD 6850 1GB

I know the 7870 says it is PCI Express 3.0 and my MOBO is just 2.0. Will this affect the performance of the new card? Is this an ideal card to get in the first place?
Furthermore, would you recommend upgrading the GPU first or going with a newer MOBO and CPU?

Thanks for taking the time to read. Any other comments and suggestions are more than welcome.

Hi. Uppgrade the GPU first. I think best gpu is for the money GTX 760.
Then when you need mobo + cpu. That will come in two years or so.

No You be fine with your pci-e 2.0
SSD is good to have. You be amazing how fast your old pc comes with SSD

Thanks very much for the information! I will go ahead and look into GPU's more now!
