HELP! I've scoured the internet with no success. Every time I put my computer to sleep, it would wake up on its own. There aren't any patterns to how long until it wakes itself up. Sometimes, it will be after a day. Sometimes, it will be within minutes or seconds. It restarts and I haven't noticed really any specific times it wakes up either. It appears to just wake up very randomly. If I shut it down, there aren't any problems, but if I put it to sleep or hibernate, then it will wake up by itself. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance for your time!

Here are my computer specs:
1. NZXT Noctis 450 Chassis
2. MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G
3. MSI GAMING 5 LGA 1150 Intel Z97
4. Intel Core i7-4790K Devil's Canyon Quad-Core 4.0 GHz LGA 1150 88W Processor
5. CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) RAM
6. SAMSUNG 850 EVO M.2 250GB SATA III 3-D Vertical Internal SSD Single Unit Version
7. Seagate Desktop HDD ST2000DM001 2TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Here are things I've tried and results:
1. Putting it to sleep and unplugging all devices (USB devices and ethernet cable).
2. Searching for problem in Command prompt:
>powercfg -a
The following sleep states are available on this system:
Standby (S3)
Hibernate
Hybrid Sleep
Fast Startup
>powercfg lastwake
Wake History Count - 1
Wake History [0]
Wake Source Count - 0
>powercfg -devicequery wake_armed
Killer e2200 Gigabit Ethernet Controller (note: I have disabled this before too and it didn't work)
3. I have disabled teamviewer and turned off any and all devices to wake up on lan
4. I have updated my motherboard and flashed my motherboard.
5. I've taken out the graphics card, processor, and unplugged all the case fans. I then unplugged my computer, drained all the electricity from the motherboard battery, and made sure nothing was plugged in. I left it for about 30 minutes to an hour to make sure there wasn't electricity left in the computer and then I plugged everything back in. I've also made sure everything is plugged in tightly.
6. I've turned off wake timers in the power options.
7. I've checked and haven't seen any bent pins.
8. I've also went into maintenance and uncheck the "allow scheduled maintenance to wake up my computer at the scheduled time" box.

I am currently at a lost for what to do. I've looked up many sites for this problem, but I cannot seem to determine the issue. Also, I am not entirely sure if this is a motherboard problem, but that is my guess. There wasn't a particular section on computers overall so I posted it here.
Once again, thank you for your time and guidance!

Does your BIOS not have the option to wake up the computer on anything other then power switch ? All my mobos for like last 8 years or so came with various wake functions and options. For example:

Wake on keyboard
Wake on Mouse
Wake on External Event <<<<<< this is what you'd be looking for or something like that
Wake on LAN
Wake on WIFI
Wake on Bluetooth
etc.

Disable all these different wake options except the powerswitch.

Also check your scheduler in windows, you could have some system maintenance waking up your computer, even a 3rd party app such as AV or something that looks for PC updates while it thinks you're asleep, or windows doing disk maintenance etc.

Next time this happens, bring up task manager and take a good look at what processes are running. You can also check Windows Event Viewer and see what details it gives you about the Wake events.

Thank you for your reply! I've looked it up but I haven't found anything about dummy load for the MSI gaming 5 MOBO. I have looked, but I can't find it in my bios either. I could have overlooked it, but I did not see it anywhere. Thank you for your time!

Thank you for your reply! I looked, but unfortunately, I could not find anything like that. I thought I found it, but I ended up turning off all the USB's and could not use my computer. I had to clear my CMOS to get it back to the right settings so I could use my keyboard and mouse. It was pretty scary for a moment there, my mistake. You also mentioned some other things, but I am unsure how to check them. for example, I am unsure how to check my antivirus to see if it woke up my computer or disk maintenance. I went into maintenance, but the only thing that was even remotely related was the automatic maintenance message (which I turned off already). I have went into the power options and disabled wake timers. Lastly, I have visited event viewer several times now, but I am unsure what I am even looking for or how to use it. I have been in task scheduler as well and checked as many as I could to see whether the "wake the computer to run this task" are checked in the properties. However, there were way too many for me to ever finish going through them. I am sorry I did not fully understand everything you suggested and I hope you will ocntinue to give me your guidance. Thank you for your time!

Update: It has now gotten to the point where it wakes itself up within a minute on its own. I unplugged all external devices. No luck. Unplugged the fan from the PWM hub, no luck. Unplugged the GPU, no luck. Unplugged the hard drive, no luck. I have not unplugged the SSD because my OS is booted on it and I am worried I might make this problem worse by doing that. I've disabled on WOL and I have tried to turn off all of windows scheduling (although I am not sure if I was very thorough in doing so. Not too sure about how to do this correctly.) I do not think it's the fault of an external device or WOL. I have also tried disabling teamviewer, still no luck. Every time I put my computer to sleep, it now wakes itself up, then after a minute or two, goes back to sleep. Then it turns on again. Then back to sleep. And it continues this cycle. It seems as though this problem has gotten worse and I am not too sure what to do or what is responsible. If anyone needs more information, let me know. Please, I have racked my brain for about 2 years now and still cannot determine why this is happening.
Thank you very much in advance!

Hi Isokolon! Thank you for your reply!
My PSU is EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G2 220 80+ Gold 650W.
Here is a link just in case you need it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438054

I wanted to test whether this problem was due to my internal SSD (my OS is installed on it), my motherboard, my CPU, or my PSU, but I have no clue how to test them (I can't afford to buy new ones of each until the problem resolves itself and I do not have spare parts unfortunately). I also thought that the problems might be certain wires but there are so many wires and I have tried swapping as many wires as I could (but I'm also limited on wires). Any tips or advice you could give on my predicament is very much appreciated. Thank you for your help thus far!

Edit: I can also include pictures of my rig if you require it!

I finally ended up fixing this issue. After all this time, it turns out it was a software issue. I believe it was windows, since It did not go to sleep when I installed linux. I have since then installed Windows 10 Pro and the issue has not happened anymore. Whatever the issue was, it was definitely software and not hardware!
