Computer will boot ONLY from network

Recently I reset my laptop to its factory settings. All is fine, except that it won't boot normally. Instead, it shows a black screen with a flashing lower dash and that's it.

BUT it does boot normally if I press F12 instead and boot from network.
(I really have no idea what this means, it just works)
Then it sort of loads something, I get this screen

and I access Windows just fine. I can do everything.

Why you are getting this, as I see from your screen shot is simple.
It has to do with what we call the bios, and its settings for the boot order.
Or what the computer first looks as a device fitted or installed to your laptop.
When it is looking for a boot able operating system such as windows 7 ect.

Your network card is set in the list in the bios of what boot able devices to look at in numerical order.
All you need to do is set the working hard drive in the laptop to number 1, or before the network adapter.
In the section of the bios relating to boot.
Save the new changes or settings before you exit the bios.
All is fixed.


The keys to enter the bios right after power up can be F1, F2 or the del key of your laptops key board.
Try it and you will note the Pxe thing is gone.
