Computer will not start with graphics card plugged in.
My setup:*ASUS SABERTOOTH Z97 MARK 2
*GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 970
*Intel Core i7-4790K Devil's Canyon Quad-Core 4.0 GHz LGA
Thermaltake PS-TPD-0850MPCGUS-1 850W Modular Power Supply

its in. just failed to state that. I have all components for the computer plugged in besides the graphics card. It will start up and boot bios without graphics card but when it is plugged in the computer does not even turn on.

im new to this website as in posting things. My graphics card works just fine and so does my gpu. my computer will power up without the graphics card in and runs bios and what not. I also put my graphics card in my friends computer and it works. Its only when i try to use my graphics card with my motherboard. Im just guessing its a problem with the PCI slots because i have tried both PCI 3.0x16 slots.

update the motherboard bios

how could i go about doing so?
