Computer will only boot up once every two times.

Ever since I got a new motherboard, a new cooler for my processor and moved my ram from slot one to slot three and back to slot one, my computer only starts once of every two times. It never breaks the cycle and starts two times in a row or doesn't start twice in a row. With the change of hardware Windows 8 was deactivated and I had to reactivate it, but not repair or install windows with the disc at any point in time.

One of the design weaknesses of the TT TR2 models is the use of cheap capacitors (Su'scom 85°C), sounds like at least one has gone bad. Repair is probably not a good idea, I would suggest replacement.

I reset the bios to it's defaults. It seemed to fix the problem for a few minutes, but then it started doing the issue once more.This means it has to be my psu? Does it need to be replaced immediately? Could it fry my system?

Probably not, capacitors going out (oh, I forgot to mention, check the capacitors on your motherboard also) usually cause the energy storage to take longer than normal (if at all), hence the cycling. It can cause some voltage fluctuation if on the secondary side of the PSU (that's not good). I personally would run it as long as I could (that's just me, not my recommendation) while budgeting a new one but I'm going to recommend that you replace it. I'll also suggest you check voltages often to ensure they are not out of ATX specs (+/- 5% on positive rails, +/- 10% on negative rails). If they do show out of those ranges, replace ASAP since operation outside of those specs will likely cause damage

Which are you referring to?
According to the manual is it best to use the black slots first and probably with one module the one nearest to the cpu.
Also make sure it runs at the rated specs=speed/timings/voltage.

This may sound silly, but check if all connections from motherboard to components are secure not loose.

How can I check if the capacitors on my motherboard are working correctly? What program do I use to check my voltages or is it in my bios?

There is no precise way to know voltages but HWMonitor and Speedfan have voltage reading in them. The voltage reading may not be accurate since they are an interpreted value and not a direct reading. You can also read voltages in BIOS which should be more accurate but, again, an interpreted value.

Im sorry but I do not understand the voltage stuff in speedfan. My capacitators on my motherboard do not look bloated at all. So if I replace my psu will it solve the problem? I think I will get the Hive 650w

Replace this before you have nothing to boot , a forum member told me he had one that exploded.

The Rosewill HIVE Rosewill Hive 550 and 650 are decent.

If your budget will only allow the HIVE 650, get it but if you can work out the budget for Antec HCG 620m then get it instead. Even though one says 650 and the other says 620, the power output would be 620 Watts or lower on the HIVE 650 at 50º Celsius or higher.

The HIVE 650 also uses lower grade capacitors but it is better than keeping the TR2 700 in the system. The HIVE is rated at 40º Celsius and has a 3 year warranty whereas the Antec HCG 620m is rated at 50ºC and has a 5 year warranty.

The HCG 620m is worth the $10 more and the $20 rebate from Antec comes back really fast. I got my $25 back in less than a month.

The hives won't die on me like the Thermaltake TR2 right? The Hive will work well enough that I won't have to worry about this happening for a long time?

If you can't spare the $10, get the HIVE 650 so that the TR2 doesn't damage your computer. If you can spare the $10, get HCG 620m.

The HCG 620m has better capacitors than the HIVE 650. There is no reason to risk the 760 and the 8320 over $10. The HCG is made for high end gaming system where the video card is overclocked and processor has 4 or more cores and has a turbo mode.
