Computer won’t connect to network or do anything I ask it

So yesterday I was playing a game with some buddies of mine. Shortly after, I decided to tamper with some audio settings in the system settings to which I was told I needed to restart my pc.

After the restart I could no longer connect to the internet. I’m using Ethernet and my mobo doesn’t support WiFi. I can’t even reset my pc “there was a problem resetting your PC”. I have looked around the internet for hours on end to no avail. I have no idea where to go from here since it won’t even let me reset. Please help

Edit:

I have attempted to clear arpcache.
I have reinstalled most recent windows update.
I have checked every setting I could possibly find.
I have checked the Ethernet cord.
I have reset my internet many times.

Solution
I found the answer:

So after trial and error, I eventually attempted restarting my pc and forcing it to troubleshoot from boot. This managed to make me able to force a reset on my pc.
@COLGeek I checked what I had installed on that day and the only thing I had installed was a game and a windows update. Both of which I have already uninstalled (and reinstalled the update).

It won’t let me. If I try to restore or even completely hard reset my pc, it just says that it has failed. It literally won’t allow me to do anything of the sort

It’s older now but here:

i7700k
GTX 980
16gb ram
250 ssd
1tb hdd
I forgot the mobo name but I’m pretty sure it’s an older ASRock
And no, nothing is overclocked

They were both about 90% full. They're both now at about 50% since I've re-downloaded some of the games and programs.

And yes, I have many backups. I keep the most important stuff on a USB stick. Thanks for the help, I'm just sad that it was such a simple solution the entire time haha
