Hi!

Recently when I was scrolling Windows, my screen went black and the GPU fans went to the roof. First I got to Windows but now the boot section doesn´t even occur.
If I unplug the GPU from the motherboard and use the integrated it works fine.

Following things I´ve done:

  1. Opened the GPU, cleaned it and replaced old thermal paste.
  2. Checked temp and volt in HW Monitor when I was able to enter Windows before crash.
  3. Tried different pin cables
  4. Checked this forum for the same issue
Tried the GPU in my girlfriends computer and it turned out to do the same. When I removed my bad card and plugged in her card again it also made the same noise and wouldn´t boot again.
So now her GPU only works in another PCI-E port, it was like my card blew something in the slot.

Have anyone stumbled on a similar problem? Maybe I shouldn´t try and use that card anymore and get a new one!
Thanks.

My specs that might be releveant:

Power Supply: 700w
GPU: ASUS Radeon R9 290X 4gb GDDR5
