Hi, I've been having this issue for about a year now and it's only whenever I have a GPU in that my computer fails to boot to BIOS. The previous card was an EVGA GT 610 1GB, and now I'm on a Gigabyte GT 1030 2GB and still having the same issue. I'll list my other specs here:
Anyways, the computer does boot fine without a GPU, it's when there's one in there that it will turn on but never even reach BIOS. The power light turns on, the fans all run, I hear the usual startup beeps, but nothing on the screen at all, or even power to any USB device that may be plugged in (mouse and keyboard are usually all that's plugged in). I've never flashed the BIOS, and all the settings, as far as I know, are the same default settings since I got the computer (never bothered with em).
However, whenever I do have the GPU inside I can reset the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery for about 10-15 minutes and putting it back in and it will turn on fine. Right now I'm on a tight budget, and I'm thinking there's something wrong with the motherboard, but before I waste my money on something like this I want to know if the issue is in fact the motherboard, and if there's anything I can do to fix it. I'm not much of a hardware guy so I might not exactly know what all to do about it, so I'm hoping someone here can solve this for me. Thank you in advance for any answer, whether it's good or bad news.
