Computer Won't Boot - DRAM and CPU LEDs Flashing after CMOS Battery Change

Hi all,

My computer was resetting the BIOS settings every time the power was turned off at the wall, and seeing as the MOBO is about 6/7 years old now I thought I'd better change the CMOS battery. (Worth noting at this point I forgot to reset using the jumper, but I've tried that since).

I did so and the computer booted up fine, however I after shutting down and turning the power off at the wall I found I was still having the same problem of the BIOS resetting. Nonetheless I changed the necessary settings in BIOS, saved and restarted.

However, now when I power up the DRAM and CPU lights flash red and theres no display output. I've removed the GPU, RAM, SDD and HDD but still no luck. I've tried booting up without a CMOS battery, and have even tried putting the old one back in!

Please help if you have any suggestions. I've read so many other forum posts but this problem seems so diverse and I'm getting of my depth here.

Here are my specs:

ASUS P8Z77-V
Intel i5 3570k
Corsair HyperX Genesis 4x4GB
EVGA Gefeorce GTX 66 Ti SC+ 3GB
Corsair TX750 PSU
Corsair H60 CPU Cooler

Thanks!

I cant help, I'm posting to follow. I have an Asus board 1 gen older. It's not my main pc anymore. But it does the same thing. Every time its unplugged, I have to reset the cmos for it to work. I've replaced the battery twice to be sure and it still happens. It also has the USB flash bios (I've never used it). I'm usually fairly good with fixing my pc. But this one stumped me. So I just live with it.
Edit: just noticed it also has the same power supply. But I can't see that being the factor.

It's too bad these boards are conveniently out of warranty. If they were still covered, I'd bug the hell out of them to get it serviced and repaired.
