GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD3 LGA 1155 Intel P67
CORSAIR TX650 650W
Intel Core i5-3570K
Samsung RAM MV-3V4G3D/US 8GB
AMD HD 7850 4GB
I just attempted to upgrade to a R9 390 and new SSD and somehow messed something up. Once I put them in and booted the computer everything started normally except the screen wouldn't turn on. Confirmed with the 7850 that everything was still working. I switched back to the 390 and booted - same thing.
To troubleshoot this issue I reset the CMOS, unplugged and plugged everything back in, and reseated the RAM. After putting my 7850 and old SSD back in Windows states that there was an error with the boot device. I took it out and put it back in. Now the computer turns on for a few seconds, the CPU fan turns off, and then the computer turns off shortly after. Repeat.
I reset all the plugs, RAM, and disconnected anything that was not critical to POST. It still does the same thing. I made sure the PSU was good by putting it in another computer. I don't have a display for that one but it boots and stays on.
Obviously I messed up the motherboard somehow but cannot figure it out. All the capacitors look good and there were no obvious shorts. Does anyone have any ideas to further test or look for to figure out what may have happened?
Edit: So I got an old 300W PSU and attached it to the motherboard outside of the case, removed the RAM, and manually connected the pwr pins. Same results. It is definitely the motherboard or CPU but I have zero hints as to what may have occurred.
