Recently bought hard drive from old macbook pro and reformatted it to NTFS with no problem, windows recognizes drive and so does BIOS. Installed windows on it and everything went fine, but when i try to boot from the drive it doesn't work. Tried changing boot order and everything, and when i use a different drive (ssd i have laying around) computer boots normally into windows. No clue what to do from here. PC is HP 8200 elite.

Sorry to be nit-picky but you never mentioned actually installing an OS to the HDD which is what makes it bootable. Formatting just sets it up to be able to store files using a system the pc will recognize and use.
