Computer wont boot from internall HDD

My computer's BIOS sees the drive in the main screen, but when I go to boot my computer (its a dell Inspiron 15) it says 'no bootable device' what can I do to fix the problem? If not, what can I do to clone the drive?

I don't have any media yet, I sent a media order out to dell, but it hasn't come yet. Would making a media from another device that runs windows 8 work like a recovery drive?

It may work, but the computer wont even see it aside from the bios, the recovery software may not even recognize the drive. then again, it is coming up saying it needs to be repaired, so it may work, i hope it does.
