So i've bought a new graphic card (gigabyte gtx 970)recently no't that perfect but it will do the work.. but my problem is that whenever I start the computer, it won't boot past the BIOS. It and it keeps making that beep start up sound every few seconds When I put the old card back (GT640) it works just good. Even while surfing the net looking for a solution it looks like the problem is pretty usual and people just didnt know how to fix it and there is no shiny solution

My system has :
Cpu: core i5 3330
Gpu: 640 upgrading to 970
Ram: 8gb
Psu: cooler master 550 watt
Motherboard: acer 2012 brand.. (couldn't find the modle.. Sry)

Maybe a conflict with the drivers? I don't know for sure but I do know that the wrong drivers can cause havoc sometimes.
I'm not saying that the drivers from your old card are causing a problem but it's worth a try to un-install them.

And I'm not 100% sure that I spelled out the correct order in doing what I suggested.
If what I suggested doesn't work, then once you have the new drivers downloaded (after the old drivers have been uninstalled), install them and THEN install the GTX 970, re-boot the pc.

Good Luck......

Few things with the system, you have an Acer, OEM motherboard don't often like to work with higher end video cards and Acer is one of the lowest quality brands that uses cheap components that are likely to have more issues than others. Do a BIOS update while running the old card and try again. Could be a power issue or bad card also, see if you can find another system with a good power supply to test the card in.

Make sure all power plugs needed for the 970 are in.

After doing some researches i found out the mother board is the problem and im looking currently for a motherboard that works with both of i5 3th gen and 970.. Prefer gigabyte Can somebody mention one?
