Computer won't boot unless I remove and reinsert the 24 pin connector after shutdown + turning off the power bar

Build:
Power Supply: Evga Bronze 600B (600w)
Motherboard: Asrock H97M Pro4
CPU: Intel G3258 (not clocked)
GPU: (NONE) -> Integrated from CPU
RAM: 2x4gb G.Skill RipJawsX
SSD: Curcial 128gb M550 SSD

This is only a booting problem, the computer works fine when running.

This is a new build (2 weeks old), and I know I should be able to shutdown the computer (normal windows shutdown) and turn off the power bar after. However, every time I turn off the power bar, the computer won't boot at all (no lights inside either) after the power bar is turned back on. The only fix I found is to remove the 24pin connector from the power supply and reattach it. The computer I used beforehand use to be able to take a power bar turn off after a shutdown and boot after switching the power bar back on (on the same power bar I am using).


Things I have tried and have not worked:

- Holding the shutdown button for more than 30 seconds to drain battery
- Removing the round battery and putting it back


Things that works sometimes, and sometimes doesn't:

-Shut down computer, turn off power supply, turn off power bar. (in that particular order)


I have googled for an answer and didn't find anything; any help would be appreciated I believe the problem is related to the motherboard

PS: My computer hardware knowledge is limited, but I am pretty clever too ^^

Sounds like a shorting issue, some component is charging with static and when unplugging the 24pin connector you discharge it, thus allowing it to function until static charges again.

I suggest you start with the breadboarding method, described after step 23 I think.

Thank you for your reply; I just came here to say that I have read it and will try this tomorrow since I am busy with my school assignments due.

However I just want to document this in case the breadboarding method does not work.

This morning I was able to open the computer without disconnecting the 24 pin connector with the steps described below:

1) Turn on power bar
2) Put power supply to off
3) Hold the power button for 20 seconds
4) Turn back power supply on
5) Push power button to start computer
6) IT worked!

I was amazed when it worked this time, while other times it didn't. I do not believe this is a fix however, I'll do all the necessary testing tomorrow and come back with results.


EDIT: I did this 2 times and it somehow fixed the issue. I can now open computer after I open the power bar from a closed state. That was easy I guess xD
