Computer Won't Boot

I'm having a bit of an issue with my computer. The other day I turned it on, and I had no signal to the monitor, keyboard or mouse. All of the fans in the case were operational, as well as the case LEDs. After a few attempts, I managed to get it to boot. It ran fine after that; I browsed the internet as well as played some games without issue. However, after attempting to start it up today I'm getting the same problem. I'm kind of stumped as to what the issue actually is, though I feel like it's either the motherboard or the PSU. I appreciate any help you guys can give me.

I would say its either a PSU or motherboard issue. If you built the computer then make sure your power supply has enough voltage to supply all the parts, but if you bought it already made and purchased at the store I would say its very unlikely the power supply. Next it could be the motherboard. Motherboard issues usually cause an issue at either random times or 100% of the time. It is unlikely their would be a motherboard issue unless it has been exposed to liquid, moisture, or overheating. If either of these dont seem to be the problem I can assure you that it is not a hard drive or video card issue. It could be a CPU issue, but usually CPU problems dont act like that on a computer. Also the only way to test the parts would be either to replace that part temporarily with any part (can be cheap or loaned from a friend) and try to boot the computer and see what happens.

I did build this computer myself a few years ago; the motherboard and power supply are both around 4 years old. After doing some research I've find that the power supply isn't very good (it's a Corsair CX600) but I think that it should be enough to power my system. Judging by the problem I'm having, is it more likely the PSU or the motherboard?

If when it boots it does stay up for as long as it is on, I would say it is a power supply issue, but I cant say for sure. Some power supplies when they get old can have a hard time getting started but can stay up when they are up.

Alright, well the computer does stay on after turning on the power, so I guess I'll look into a new PSU first. Thanks for your help!
