Computer won't download stuff...

I got my new computer today and it's a gaming computer. I'm using a wireless USB adapter to connect to the internet and I've downloaded google chrome and the minecraft launcher. If I try to download iTunes it says 0seconds left on the Internet then says "Network Error", also when I try and download Steam it says "steam needs to be online to update. Please confirm your network connection and try again" so I'm sure it's my network connection, can someone help me with my problem please? Thanks

Do you have antivirus installed? If so, try disabling that, and retry the download.

Nope, no antivirus. I've also turned firewall off. There's soon good news though, iTunes successfully downloaded and is now installed but there's still no luck with Steam.

Try using an ethernet cable directly to your router. I wonder if the wireless connection is dropping during the download.

update your wireless USB driver
make sure to try both on usb.20 and usb3.0
i hope its not windows 8 that you are using...lol let us know
