Hey guys!
I recently upgrade my CPU from a i3 2100 to a i5 3750, both with LGA1155.
I work in the IT department myself and I consider myself to be pretty okay when working on computers but this Problem seems strange to me.
The Problem:
I seated the new CPU to the LGA1155 (without power, thermal paste applied properly, ...) and tried to power it on. The computer starts for about 3-4 seconds and turns off again which loops all the time.
Things I tried:
At one point I assumed the CMOS battery may be a little weak after all the time, so I replaced it. It still didn't work, so I connected the CLR_CMOS Pins to reset the CMOS, still no difference. Then I removed the Battery completely for 10+ minutes. Putting it back in and tried to start- no difference. Did try it again for 20 minutes and was like - hey, why not? Let's start without the battery in. And in that case, the computer turns on and stays on, but won't show POST screen or any other reaction. After putting in the CMOS Battery back in and trying again, it is again in a loop with no POST to see.
Can you guys tell me anything I don't know or missed? I just bought the CPU from eBay and hope its not broken.
As I tried to point out: All Hardware works with old configuration, new CPU leads to power on/off loop. Removing CMOS Battery leads to power on, staying on but wont POST.
Thanks for any advice!

Things I tried:
- Updated the BIOS to newest Version which supports my CPU
- Cleared CMOS
- Rebooting with old CPU works, all other components work with the old CPU
- Did the benching I read in all the posts here
- Tried another PSU, no difference
