My computer refuses to go into standby, i get a message that my ATI 3d Rage 2II AGP video card wont let it go into standby. It says to update the driver. But its such an old card I cannot find an updated driver for it. Any ideas?? The system is as follows

P3 800Mhz
Intel Se440bx-2
768megs ram
40gig HD
ATI 3D Rage IIC AGP 8mb
Soundblaster AWE64
HP Cd-writer plus 9100
HP cd-rom
XP pro SP2

I know the system is old, but believe it or not its actually plenty fast for what the family uses it for mostly web browsing, word processing and cd burning/ripping. Any ideas how to solve this problem?? The system will most likely be upgraded in the next year. But I would still like to fix the problem.
thanks

According to support at MS, there is no work around for this since Windowz power mgmt does not support the ATI drivers for that RAGE chipset. I've tried nearly all ATI drivers old and new for that chipset and none will allow standby, only Hibernate which does not req power mgmt. See MS support: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=298198 You'll need a another Vid card to use standby. Good news is you can replace that 8mb card with a faster card for real cheap if you don't need the 3D for games. Even a 3D card with 16-32 mb is cheap now.
<$20 tops.
