Computer won't power on - power supply works fine

Computer won't power on.

Tried using a different battery, power supply, power switch, to no avail - there is no power coming in.

I got a (used) new motherboard and same problem.

Ran the paperclip test (successfully) on my power supply.

I tried putting a screwdriver by the 2 pins for the power button - also didn't work.

Sorry, forgot to add.

I had this issue, ran a bunch of tests etc. determined that motherboard was at fault - ordered a new (used) motherboard from a respected seller on ebay - same issue

Stupid question but you have made sure all the power connectors (20+4 m9bo pin and 4 cpu pin) are inserted properly?

Yes, and yes.

24 pin (one piece) is connected

4 pin cpu is connected

No beeps, nothing - no power coming through (PSU fan, power button light - both don't turn on)

It's a factory (generic) computer - non custom build (not sure the correct terminology here) so specs are same as on newegg.
