computer wont power on

i just put in and i put one of the power connectors to the motherboard 24 pin and i also put it in my hardrive and my dvd drive can anyone help ill send a pic

Newer graphics cards might not work on old boards.

perhaps lets exmine since i have my motherboard that has a 4 pin power connector i need a 4 pin power connector but my psu doesnt have it since the cx corsair 500w didnt come with one what do i do?

It should have one. The CPU 8 pin connector should be 4+4. See if splitting.
