Computer won't power up now.

I just built my first computer, plugged it in and heard this pop from within the computer. Now it won't power up at all. The motherboard still lights up when I turn on the psu but when I press the power button nothing happens. I have double checked inside to make sure everything was connected properly and it seems like it is. So I have on clue what's going on. If someone could assist I would be grateful. I think tonight is the night for smoke-checking computers.

A 'pop', and then nothing works signals a broken part, probably the PSU. But might be the motherboard.
Do you have another PSU to try it with?

It was probably a capacitor blowing. Just curious what brand psu is it?

I would start with replacing the psu. Also check the capacitors on the motherboard.

It's a corsair Builder 600W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V Power Supply
