My computer won't start, I've replaced the power supply but same problem. When I press the power button, I can see all the fans spinning for less than a second and then they would stop. The green LED light on motherboard comes on and stays on when the power supply switch is turned on. I need help.

first thing to do is reset the bios by removing battery wait 2 mins put it back in or find the pins reseting the bios on the motherboard do that when power supply is off. if no joy then remove optical drive test. remove hdd test. remove rams test. remove graphics card test test. till you end up with just motherboard. if no joy replace the cpu test.

It could be your motherboard. I would recommend doing a "bench test" with only the PSU, motherboard, CPU, and RAM installed (video card not required unless there is no on board video). Your motherboard should also be placed on a electrostatic discharge mat and you should be properly grounded when doing this.

I'm leaning towards replacing the motherboard and upgrade the CPU. I did the bench test with only the PSU, motherboard, CPU, and RAM with no success. This is an old socket 775 computer I built for my daughter back in 2007. So I guess an upgrade is needed at this time. Thanks for the advice.
