Hi

My computer will not start when i press the start button. There seems to be power to it as the external hard drives that are connected power up ok. If i pull our the USB cable from one of the hard drives then the little light on the hard drive goes out. It comes on again if I plug it back into the computer. Also the power light on the monitor is on.

Could someone tell me what the problem might be and how to fix it please?

hey there.

From what you've told me, I think the PC is actually powering on, you're just not getting any display output. Does the PC sound like it's coming on? Fans spin, hard drives power up etc?

Firstly, what specs is your computer? Is it a new computer you've built, or has the problem just recently developed?

Does the computer give you one short beep when you turn it on? (this would indicate that the POST has completed and everything seems to be fine.)

let me know,
