Computer won't turn on after installing new motherboard

Hi I'm having a problem getting my computer to turn on after installing my new motherboard. When I plug in the AC power to the back of the case and flip the switch the motherboard lights briefly flash once. When I push the power button my peripheral hardware lights briefly turn on for a split second. The RGB lights on the RAM stay on. A light on my gpu stays on but no fans. Nothing in the computer powers on. My specs are:

Gigabyte Z370 Aorus gaming 5 motherboard (new)
Intel i5 6600k CPU
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16gb DDR4 3000MHz RAM
EVGA 850 BQ PSU
Zalman copper heat sink CNPS9500AT
Asus Geforce GTX 1070 GPU

That's because the 300 series mobos only support 8 series intel chips even though they are the same socket.
