My computer won't turn on. For several months I had an issue where the computer's power button would sometimes fail to turn on the computer. When this would happen I would flip the power switch on the power supply off and then on again then press the case's power button again and it would work. Sometimes I would have to do this multiple attempts and I took to leaving my computer on all the time.

I knew I needed to fix it so I bought a new power supply on a black friday special and I have been holding on to it waiting for the problem to spring up again. Magically, the problem disappeared for about two months and I have been turning my computer off regularly. Today however, it quit and I can't turn it on.

I replaced the power supply and it still doesn't work. I have checked all the connections several times. The LED lights on the case flash on and off when the power supply is switched on but the power button does not work. I have also tried to power on the computer by shorting the case power button pins and it didn't do anything. I assume this means that I need to buy a new motherboard but I would like the weigh in of some smarter folks before I drop the cash. Many thanks!
