Computer won't turn on.

Last night after an electrical power outage, my computer no longer will turn on. I built this one about 4 months ago, which gave me no problems until now.

This is what I've tested:
Everything was plugged in,
The outlet is giving power,
The power cord isn't damaged,
I've tried the paperclip trick, and my PSU's fans are working,
If I plug the 24 pin into my motherboard, but nothing happens.

I've hit the wall, and this is my last resort from taking it to the local shop.
Please help, thanks...

you wanna check if cpu fan spins.another thing you can try connect your hard drive to other pc.

possible surged right into the motherboard and damaged some part and now it's not booting because of a part. Remove the parts one by one then power to see, if it can be the cause.

That's the thing, I can't check, because the Power Supply seems to work, but it's not giving the motherboard any power. Could the motherboard the culprit?

I'm thinking that or a single part could also be the cause, or even a part that's not fitting correctly.

Try removing part by part then check to see if it works in between.

I think is is the power supply. Maybe it can spin a fan but can't carry the load of your components. Easiest and cheapest to test! Good luck.

Test another power supply from a friend in your case.

I have the paperclip in the 24 pin, which turned the power supply on. But, are you saying that it may not be giving efficient amount of power to the motherboard?

Would a multimeter determine if it's the cause?

Possibly if you knew the color pin out. But it still would not be under load. Open the thing up and look for damage.

Computer is now turning on and off, it'll turn on for about 5 secs and shut off, and then repeat.
