System specs:
CPU: i7-4790k
GPU: GTX 760
RAM: 8gb
MB: ASRock Z97 Extreme4
PSU: Seasonic M12II 850W
For the last couple weeks my newly built PC (about a month or 2 old) has been acting up.
First it started out with 2 types of blue screens.
One of the blue screens was "memory management" so either something was going on with my ram or r it was broken. I know for a fact my ram is not broken as after the blue screens stopped my computer has been working fine (when it turns on)
I can't remember what the other blue screen was for. I believe it was something related to me having corrupt files or something and I wasn't able to boot Windows for awhile.
I reinstalled windows and received a couple blue screens again but I have not had any ever since. The reason for this, I think, is from my troubleshooting for my computer not turning on.
Now in addition to the last couple blue screens I had, I was moving my computer around to different rooms and whilst trying to power it on it simply wouldn't do anything. Just f***in great, another problem. I tried other outlets and other power strips and 1 or 2 of them worked sometimes but when I moved it back to the correct outlet/power strip it wouldn't power on. I tried switching strips between outlets and nothing was working so I took out the CMOS battery and switched the ram slots.
Blamo it turned on and worked perfectly for the rest of the day.
The next day I moved the PC again back to its original location and it wouldnt power on again YAYYYY.
I did all the same things and tried different outlets in the power strip and nothing would work. While complaining to a friend he came over turned the power button on and bam it went on. WHATT???
Ive just been so lost and I have no idea what's going on with my machine. I had to move it again and sure enough its not worknig and Ive tried everything once again, even unplugging everything from the powersupply and replugging it in.
So far I've come to the conclusion that either my PSU is bad, or is bad enough to the point where i should just get a new one.
Or my motherboard is fried.
There is not light on my motherboard or PSU so I can't tell if it's getting power. I haven't tried a voltage test on the PSU yet and I can't find my voltage meter so I'm going to take it into geek squad and have them test it out.
