Last night I used my desktop perfectly fine. Then once I finished my web surfing for the day I turned my computer off and then I turned off the power strip (since there was heavy rain/tornado warning and I didn't want a power surge to damage the computer.). Then this morning I go to turn it on and it does nothing. Doesn't show any signs that it is even connected to power (yes I turned back on the power strip) I built this computer August of 2012 so it's not terribly old. I'm hoping it's not a major problem, maybe just a bad battery in the motherboard? any suggestions?

A bad cmos battery wouldn't stop your computer from booting.
It would just erase your saved bios setting and reset them to default.

Before you do anything too drastic make sure you didn't wiggle the power cord out of the strip or computer by a millimeter.
