Hey, guys! So I'll get right into it. This is exactly what I recalled.
I have this rig with a 5-7 yo 500w Coolermaster PSU but all other components (mobo, cpu, gpu, hdds) are relatively new. Last night I tried to upgrade to windows 8.1. I left my PC on to finish it's thing. I was watching TV when I noticed the PC remained off. I tried turning it on but nada. Checked the power cords and sockets even though I haven't touched a thing but no. I opened it up to observe. What I saw was when I'd plug in my PC I can see the mobo lights on like the USB Boost light (Asus mobo). When I press the power button it turns on everything even the fans but only for some milliseconds and then off. Sounds like a short. So I checked any causes of a short but no. I even reseated everything even tried turning on with one memory stick, without the gpu or any other conponent but nada. I'm thinking it might be my PSU. Pls tell me I'm right. 🙁 cheers!
