So recently I built my computer. Everything was fine for a week, i could play games, go on internet, etc. Then on day i went to sleep and next morning it wont turn on. The motherboard green LED is on, the ethernet cable is blinking orange, but nothing turns on when i press the power button. No CPU, GPU or case fans.

I've rechecked every plug and cable and they are all connected. I've reconnected GPU, ram, all sata cables, power cables, case plugs. I can confirm that the psu is completely good and the problem must be something else.

I've reset the RTC clock by shorting it with a screwdriver as the manual says and reset the motherboard battery as well. (There are no CMOS pins with jumper caps anywhere on the motherboard.)

I have no idea what the problem is. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Specs:
CPU: i5 6500
GPU: EVGA GTX 1070
PSU: EVGA Supernova b2 750w
Mobo: Asus Z170-P
RAM: 16 GB G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4

Nope, no weird electrical things at all. Every other device in my house is fine, and the outlet is working as well.

Please remove all front panel connectors from the pins on the motherboard. Use a screwdriver to bridge the two pins which are for the power button. You may need to reference your manual to find out which pins these are.

If the machine starts up, plug the power button back in and try again. Sometimes a loose connection at the front panel is all that's wrong.

Nothing happened. Would that mean that my mobo is dead, after just 3 days of use?

I don't yet have enough information to determine the point of failure.

Let's shift our attention to your power supply. I have a video on YouTube on how to test your power supply with a multimeter. If you don't have a multimeter, you can still follow along with the paperclip method to jump start the PSU outside the case. If the PSU does not respond, it is not functioning correctly.

If at any point, there is a burning smell or any strange sounds/flashes, immediately unplug the power supply and do not touch it for several minutes.

I did the psu test with a paperclip and nothing happened. Thing is, the fans never spun except when im doing something intensive to save energy, so i dont think it shows if the psu is properly working or not.

Really? That is weird, I don't ever remember even hearing the fans on regular startups.
Yes, I think it does.

Go to the manufacturer website and follow their instructions on how to file an RMA. You will likely have to pay shipping to them, but they'll cover everything else.

As for hearing the fan, it's a very quiet fan. Until you put the PSU under enough stress that the fan needs to speed up, it will only be spinning a few hundred RPM, not enough to produce any noticeable sound.

Hi, sorry for long response time. was busy recently.
Anyway, temporarily i have installed another PSU that is working. Computer is fully starting up with fans, lights etc. However, nothing displays on my monitor. It just has a default dell logo, and windows does not show up. I have verified that all cables/plugs are in. I tried reseating RAM and GPU and resetting CMOS, to no avail.
