[SOLVED] Computer wo't turn on after installing i7.

Computer won't turn on after installing a new CPU. I upgraded from an i5-6500 to an i7-8700K. All CPU pins are intact, the power supply can handle it, everything is plugged in properly, and resetting the CMOS by removing the motherboard battery had no effect.
The computer turns on for a split second, and the CPU troubleshooting LED lights up briefly. The computer runs flawlessly if I swap back to the i5. My motherboard is an MSI B150M Bazooka.

your motherboard will not support that CPU.it is the correct socket, BUT not the correct chipset

Need 300 series motherboard, preferably z370 or z390 for that processor.
