hi. a few days ago, i moved my desktop pc from my desk, to the floor. i turned off all the power, unplugged everything and put it under my desk. as soon as i put all of the plugs back in place, these included usbs, keyboard, mouse and headphones, i booted it up, and the performance was terrible. i made sure that i was extremely careful when i moved it, so i just moved it back. once i did that, the performance has stayed the same, terrible. ive used speccy to check, and nothing seems to be out of the ordinary, but my cpu is scorching. its supposed to be around 45-50 degrees on how ive used it trying to work out what is happening, but its around 65-75 consistently. i looked online for a solution, and i saw a post that said to check my fan, which i did and nothing was wrong. im not sure what the problem is, or could be. im completely stuck. any help? (1. im putting this in the cpu catagory because i dont really know what catagory this belongs in. 2. thanks in advance <3)

you checked the fan. did that include double-checking the cooler is securely in place?
if the CPU is hotter the cooler may not be making full contact. if the cooler did work itself free, be sure to remove it and the paste before re-securing.
I would suggest re-seating of the RAM and GPU too. while inside verify that all cables are secured.

when opening a case be sure you are grounded

shut down system and remove side panel. with the power cable plugged into the PSU touch a bare unpainted metal area of the case. (my favorite spot is an unpainted screw securing the PSU) once you have grounded yourself you can unplug the computers power cable from the PSU and can touch the system.

if you move your feet, or shuffle in your chair, plug in the cord, reground yourself and unplug again.
