The reason I am concerned about "IntelligenceApp Copyright" in the Task Manager is because everytime I seem to have problems like PC or Program freezing, I find at least 2 or 3 instances of this program showing high, very high or moderate power usage.
Searching the internet results in various responses so I am not sure where this comes from.
Control Panel Programs has Intelligence version 1.0 listed. I could delete it I suppose but I wouldn't know what it is or where it comes from.

After typing the above, I did find something from Program Compatibility Troubleshooter:
Program Compatibility Troubleshooter
Find and fix problems with running older programs on this version of Windows.
Package Version:3.0
Publisher:Microsoft Windows
Program Compatibility Troubleshooter
Find and fix problems with running older programs on this version of Windows.
Package Version:3.0
Publisher:Microsoft Corporation

I run Windows 10 Pro but earlier info shows this is for Windows 8.
Does anyone else know anything about this oddity or how about Microsoft's phone number?
Thanks

In Task Manager right click on the program and go to Details. In the Details list, right click on the program and go to Properties. Where is the file located? Open that path. Right click on the program and choose Properties. Is there any additional information about who made it under the Copyright or other sections of the file properties?

Does it show up in the Task Manager / Startup? Have you tried disabling it there? If not, you can probably find it in AutoRuns (be careful and don't disable other things in there unless you know what they are).

Do you have a "Intertek Smart Plug"? I seen it mentioned on a website containing the keywords "IntelligenceApp Copyright".

that one link might just be a coincidence as if you notice, there is a Fullstop between IntelligenceApp & Copyright. I would quote it but my ad blockers won't let me run site.

Not sure this would have any software, the app it mentions looks to be for a mobile - https://smartoutletshub.com/blog/ho...ek-smart-plug-the-simplest-easiest-tutorial!/

I don't see anything on here about something called intelligence - https://www.intertek.com/inlight/ - their software appears to be Risk management.

they seem to make lots of things. I see cybersecurity mentioned too.

Of course, it might not be helpful, I was just passing by :D

I would suggest running Malwarebytes and see if it finds anything - https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download
this is good too - https://www.hitmanpro.com/en-us

gardenman, When I checked details information showed it was something connected to Microsoft. That was enough to get me on the phone when I got MS' phone #. I told the very good tech about my problem. Of course, I got the usual, "You may have clicked on something you shouldn't have". OK, I thought. I gave her control and she scanned my computer. I would never do that unless I know where the call is going to. Anyway, Thanks to MS for very good techs(yes, I know they aren't all but when you find one it's damn good).
So, anyway, the computer has not acted up and she got a satisfied customer.
I believe it was definitely not a MS problem but I got a free tech assist.

BTW,
I had been able to end task on each instance but it always came back and caused problems. So I am sure I did the right thing by calling MS.
Thank you for your help too(y)
