Concerned About My PC Overheating

I have a DELL XPS 730x. Been using it since 2008 and it still runs flawlessly to this day. I use it primarily for gaming. My only concern is that I live in Arizona and during the summer it reaches extreme heat at 100+ degrees. My apartment doesn't have air conditioning, just a normal swamp cooler. I have a thermal app software that came with my 730x system and I usually monitor the rear temp, internal temp, and front temp. If I power on my system during the day the highest I've seen my internal and front temp reach is 98 degrees, which at that point I'll manually turn off my system in order to prevent any permanent damage to my components from frying. In the summer I have to wait until about 11pm when the temperature cools down outside and reaches about 90 in order for me to feel safe to start using my PC. When I turn on my system in the daytime the fans are a little noisier, but at night when it cools down outside then the fans are much quieter.

My question is; will my system automatically shut down or give me some sort of warning if my computer is at risk of overheating? I have Windows 7 and I wasn't sure if Windows can automatically notify you if your system is running too hot. Will my fans keep my PC cool enough to run in extreme heat?

Solution
yes...if ur system is too hot, either u ll face thermal throttling which will result in freezing or crashing...or ur system might shut off if it cannot cope with the temp...
either attach more fans to ur pc case, or if that is not convenient with ur current case, buy a bigger case where u can attach more fans...
for a temporary solution, u can just open the side panel of the case and place a table fan or similar facing the unit, to lower the temps...do not ever place a cooler directly, else ur components may suffer due to moisture accumulation...
best thing to do is, place a cooler on one of the windows to lower the room ambient, and then place a fan as suggested above...

Hi Mikey! Well, first of all, does your computer loses performance when this happens? Because that is a case of serious overheating and it might freeze, blue screen you and even shutdown the computer. Getting back to the question, I believe that Windows 7 will either notify you or shutdown when serious overheat happens, but I have not experienced that myself. Windows 8 and 10 for sure have it. Also, how are your computer fans setup? Is your computer very well vented? The fans setup is a very crucial thing on PC desktops. We know that heat rises, right? and if the top of your PC has no vents and it is totally blocked off, heat will remain there, which in this case a fan will be needed to blow away all that heat out of the PC. If important components are at the top of the PC, they might reach high temperatures because of this. What some really good PC builders do, it that they put all the important components and circuitry at the bottom and fans at the top of the PC to blow away all that heat that has risen to the top. I really hope this helped Mikey520!
