Recently I have been experiencing my psu overheat without the fan coming on at all infact i think the fan is done but my cpu and gpu are just fine so is mobo vrms nothing is overheating, just the psu i have a 6700k oc'd to 4.7 and msi gtx armor 1070 +100core +300 memory i remember my psu fireing up it sounded like a jet engine the fan was spinning so fast but now it doesnt even spin at all. im not sure what this is i know its not good my psu is corsair tx750 v2 got it back in 2014 also i out a chasis fan on the bottom of it giving it air and it worked kept it cool but i im thinking i need a new psu

TX 750 V2 is an excellent PSU.
I can't tell you what is wrong with the fan if at all, but the PSU comes with 5years of warranty - you can RMA.
Anyway, this PSU has a variable fan speed which does not really kick in up to ~400w load which is almost impossible to reach for a normal desktop system.
with your setup, with both prime95 and furmark/heaven running simultaneously, the system would consume under 400w from the wall. So not sure that the fan should kick in on your system unless the PSU temperature is going over 60C.
How did you come to conclusion that the PSU is overheating ?

the psu is very warm to touch ive heard the fan like i said only ramp up that one time i have started experiencing this within the past month or so no its gotton so bad that it gets so warm that my pc just shuts off and i have to wait until it cools down before i can use it again. how i came to this is that i smelled hot electronics. i bought the power supply refurb from ebay it was praticaly brand new when i got it. would a 650w gold rated psu work for my system? with my 4.7 oc and the gpu oc? also before this system i had it running an fx 8350 oc to 4.5 and r9 390 with a modest oc

The fan controller tells the fan not to come on until > 49C and >40% load. Try running Prime 95 and 3D Mark simultaneously in loop mode and observe if your PSU fan ever spins (it may spin for a couple minutes, then turn off).

Don't open the PSU as it voids warranty and can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. For cleaning it, you can used compressed air while keeping the fan still using a skewer or something.

I don't think you can't replace the fan. I believe it's attached to the PSU lid.

If those stress tests don't turn on your PSU at after ~20m, I'd look to get RMA.

If you are going to open the PSU, before that, disconnect the power cable and press the power button on your computer while the PSU is still connected. It will drain the capacitors inside the PSU. You don't want to be electrified :)

Yeah thats a givin that was my issue about trying to fix it my self in the first place but i read that give it 15-20 min for the capciters to drain before i start working on it. i also read that a lot of ppl had problems with the fan with this particular psu. weather it makes a lot of noise or replacing it. and some say that i will be able to fix it with small engine oil cause it might be that the fan is dusted up and dried and stuck

Contact Corsair and start the RMA process, it's still under warranty.

That is the best option.
