Hi guys
i am planning to get i5 8400 with a non overclocking mb
and i want to know what my upgrade options will be if i decided to upgrade the cpu after 3 or 4 years from now without considering k cpus becuz i hate overclocking?
Given the last 8 years of Intel processors, I wouldn't recommend worrying about upgrading that Cpu in that time frame. The performance gain hasn't been there to support upgrading in that short of a time span.
It's doubtful you'd have new CPUs to choose from that far from now. So your 'options' for upgrading that system is to buy a used i7 that the motherboard supports.
what if i bought an overclockable mb instead, would i have more options with the k cpus i mean ?
maybe then i would be more open to overclocking
or it won't worth it ?
You can use a K series processor on a locked motherboard, and OCing wont really make much of a difference in the long run.
Buy what you need now, worry about upgrades when you need them.
