Concerns about graphics card not fitting into tower

As the title of the thread suggests, I recently purchased an EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB PCI-E 3.0 X16 Graphics Card (http://) and I was reading some reviews on the Newegg product page. One of the reviews advised that there needs to be a minimum of a 6 and half inch gap between the motherboard and case lid because the supplemental power plug is on the side of the card, meaning it's facing out towards the case lid instead of on the back. I measured my motherboard to case lid and there's 6 inches of room and I'm wondering if I need to be concerned about it not fitting without that extra half inch of room. I am currently running an HP a6350z Tower (http://). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you already measured and found you have the required clearance, of course it will fit. And you can usually bend the wires coming out of the 6 pin connectors pretty sharp to make it work.

I suspected that the extra half inch would not make a huge difference. But my power supply does not come with a native 8-pin connector, which is the graphics card's supplemental power plug and therefore I will be using an adapter that's included which converts two 6-pin connectors to form one 8-pin connector and I feel like that the adapter may add some extra length that may cause issues. Am I being overly worried about this or could this be a real issue?

No, I replaced my power supply a few years ago with a Cooler Master 600W PSU. (I want to say that this is the power supply, but I'd need to verify by opening the tower. http://www.coolermaster.com/powersupply/extreme/extreme-power-plus-600w/) Maybe I didn't look hard enough and there actually is an 8-pin connector, but I'd have to double check. I don't plan on doing any overclocking; that's definitely not in my arena. I'm content with running stock settings, particularly since my gaming tastes aren't super hardcore. I think the most intensive game I've run so far is Skyrim and even with High-Res packs, it still runs no problem on my current GPU. I mostly just want better, more stable frames and my current GPU is causing visual tearing during gameplay, but that could be the result of a different issue.
